'View new posts' question

Post by Scannersplitterguy »

How long are new posts supposed to be visible when you click on the 'View new posts' link?
I use this link all the time as it saves having to search through each sub-category.
Sometimes new posts remain there for only a few hours, other times they may be there for days.
For example, for most of today there was about 6 threads visible. This arvo, there is only one.
It seems to be a bit random.....

I stand corrected, theres two seperate links.

Unread and new, and thus to answer your question, I don't know.

Threads will appear on the view new posts button for the first time logging in if you for example dont read some posts that have been updated and log out then come back later and press that button the posts that wern't read wont come up unless there has been another post since you logged out, However you will find that on the forum page itself down the side the arrows turn black if there are threads unread.

I hope you understand, its a bit hard to explain.
