Yeh one of the blokes from rural ops was saying the other day they are evaluating the use of the that red fire retardant. They went into a bit of bush where they sprayed it 4 weeks earlier and they still couldn't start a fire. From what he was saying they are liking the idea of been able to drop control lines days or even weeks before fire its. The only problem was that it cause the trees to drop all the leaves but it didn't kill the trees.

It would be a good idea to have something like the DC10 available in the state that can be deployed anywhere in a few hours. I don't know what the rest of the state is like but it looks like we are going to have another big fire season in Rocky.

from what i heard toowoomba took delivery of one pallet of "red mud" recently but that wasnt oficial i belive that it real expensive so it probs wont get much use unless its on a big fire line
