Tiger uses Aero Care for their ground work

Maybe do a search for them - they are a big contract company for airport/airlines around oz...

I did a Google for Tiger Airways Company frequencies, without any success. I see that TA are a subsiduary of Singapore Airlines.

I keep the scanner on SEARCH in the Airband.

I was watching the radar this afternoon and saw a Tiger flight from MCY to MEL, so I'll keep listening.

509.6875MHz is for: Brisbane, Maroochydore and Gold Coast airport ground staff. They are simplex and 5 watts only.
131.325MHz is for ground to Aircraft, Brisbane airport
128.850MHz is for ground to aircraft, Maroochydore and Gold Coast airport.

Tiger Airways at Gold Coast Airport (OOL) use the following;

128.850 Air to ground (the aircraft normally calls in about 30 mins out). The tx antenna is on top of Terminal 2 (The Tiger terminal) and tx power is 25 watts.

509.6875 is Aero-Cares ground frequency. They use 5w handhelds so you need to be close to hear them. This frequency is channel 1 in their Motorola GP338 radios. Aero-Care also service Virgin Australia and the Tiger channel 1 frequency is the same as channel 4 in the Virgin UHF radios.

:)

Yes, I have now heard Tiger Airways on 128.8500.

I receive Virgin Blue on 131.1500 more than any other.
Anyone here heard Emirates? I got them once on 130.0500 late at night tracking in to BNE over TWB

128.850 is actually setup on a crossband repeater located within the terminal. Aerocare staff monitor this frequency via Motorola GP328 UHF handheld radios. When they hear the aircraft call in on UHF channel 1, they switch to channel 2 to transmit back via the crossband repeater. This saves someone having to sit in the office all day monitoring the radio. TT aircraft en route to Maroochydore call up on the same frequency when they are overhead Gold Coast so you'll hear them as well. TT aircraft heading to BNE use a different frequency.
