Re: Careflight 36
Was that a Helo or a Pilatus?
Miles is only approx 120 miles ENE from TWB
May be a Helo as Pilatus are RFDS aircraft and have the callsign prefix Foxtrot Delta - - - - -
Up here the departure RX is 127.0500 being TWB CTAF-R, then on to 134.4000 BNE Centre
We have a roof helo pad at TBH. I think it's used only for the urgent stuff by Rescue flights

Re: Careflight 36
As has been mentioned in the past, a lot of the Aeronautical frequencies are patched together, particularly during periods of reduced activity.
119.500 is at Springwood
130.400 is at Springwood, as well as on North Stradbroke Island.
134.300 is on Mt Glorious, as well as on North Stradbroke Island.
134.400 in on Mt Mowbullan.
Aeronautical frequencies are SIMPLEX, so TX and RX are the same.
And as Toowoomba is a CTAF (R) aerodrome there is no such thing
as Departures or Arrivals frequencies. Toowoomba only has an CTAF -
Automatic Frequency Response Unit (AFSU) on 127.650, and an
Aerodrome Weather Information Service on 127.050.

Re: Careflight 36
Got a memo today that Careflight will no longer have the capability to have comms with emergency services in NSW. The only service they will now be able to communicate with will be NSW Ambulance!
Cheers

G'day paulalinco21 wrote:Hi Geoff,
Interesting, wonder how that go when tasked by NSW Pol on a search if Lismore Westpack is away?
A bit far for the Newcastle or Taree Police chopper to fly.
Will wait and see.
Paul.
I've been told that if NSW request Careflight, an Ambulance or Ambo Senior Officer's car will have to be dispatched and used as a "Control Point" at the incident to have comms with Careflight. If no Ambulance vehicle is on scene, the other agencies have to contact Northern Comms in Newcastle by mobile phone, and get them to relay messages to the aircraft. I'll forward a copy of the memo to your email. Let me know if you hear anything on 471.200 from your place, i'll be interesting to see how far up it can be heard!
Geoffro
