Re: Queensland Government Wireless Network (QLD-GWN) Project
I was standing behind a couple of Firies at a service station in Sunnybank and he had the new APX in his back pocket. I am guessing it was programmed with the analogue freqs (I could hear it) as well as the GWN.

I also seen APXs with ambos in the exclusion zone for G20 , ambos had a rack of APXs in the ambo control centre ,
I think they are just for the G20 event .

Yes that's correct, firies have had GWN radios for some time operating still on the analogue network...
And yeah ambos showed off their G20 dedicated Comms room and the special operations truck the other day...they are definitely on the GWN for the G20 at the various locations around Brisbane and where they are in motorcades etc.

Re: Queensland Government Wireless Network (QLD-GWN) Project
The system was taken offline after the G20 for reconfiguration, Brisbane Airport and Cannon Hill were the first two sites, I have also seen two portable sites as neighbors of cannon hill, for the last few days I have also seen 103 - Gold Coast Simulcast online however the signal is that weak that I rarely get a good signal

The first 10 appliances took up to 4 days each...
Most component installers I have worked with can install multiple radios (p25/dmr/analog/cb) into a ute up to a prime mover in around 4 hours.
Programming will not be a hard task as they are still in dumb analog mode.
If it is taking motorola 4 hours to fit one radio someone is getting ripped as I can not see there contract rate under $200 per hour!

Re: Queensland Government Wireless Network (QLD-GWN) Project
At this point it would be some what brave move to make an assumption these are the final site numbers - why
from what I have seen someone has failed to purchase the 'dummy guide to setting up p25 trunked radio system' from amazon and looks to be winging it based on poorly written guides by hitting f1 on there keyboard.
In the past two weeks there has been a simulcast system setup and torn down a couple of times, some sites are peering with other sites which do not exist yet. With some of the noob mistakes made here I goto wonder if this is going to be a live network anytime soon or just someone play project/training ground.
Until you start to see peering data broadcast from each of the sites then these numbers can and may just change.

Re: Queensland Government Wireless Network (QLD-GWN) Project
Has anybody noticed the large number of new enteries on the ACMA for the GWN that have appeared on 10th April ... there are 150 odd new licences ... 1804896 to 1805045. I was looking for something else and noticed them
