And I believe the address should be LOT 896 Coachwood Drive, rather than just 896 Coachwood Drive.

Is this commonly referred to as a "link"?

NO. Links are normally low power (1 Watt, or less), and directional.

And there have been further channels added to that Site, since it was first mentioned.

Need one frequency for control channel in P25, so would need two frequencies (pairs) to have a channel to talk on...

The GWN is APCO P25 Phase II, which is two slot TDMA, so CC on one Slot, Traffic Channel on other Slot.

And anyway, there are now 8 GWN channels on that Site.

The GWN's Control Channel is being broadcast in Phase 1

Bandplan
Base - Lo - Hi - Spacing - Slots
406.9625 - 00-0000 - 00-4095 - 12.5 - 1
403.0000 - 01-0000 - 01-4095 - 12.5 - 1

403.0000 - 03-0000 - 03-4095 - 12.5 - 2

all the GWN's Control Channels are using the 00 Band Plan

I'm told the G20 part of the rollout has been signed off on. I've seen it in action and it works pretty damn well!

Preliminary work is underway for the rollout to all of SEQ. (Gympie to Coolangatta and west to Toowoomba)
Currently have: Simoco SRM9000 (TU), Yaesu FT65, GME XRS370, GME TX6155 x 2, Icom IC400 Pro x 2, Icom IC41 Pro x 3

From memory voice is the only tdma service offered under phase II, control and data streams are phase I. I have read this is a number of technical doco when looking at why phase II vs phase I.

Also one of the documents went on to talk about TDMA required the control channel to be present to provide sync signal for timing hence no phase II on direct mode or repeater mode or if site is in fail safe. Control channel are broadcasting in phase I for compatibility in mind and from what I have seen on unitrunker the documents I was reading is reflected in what unitrunker shows for both brisbane and cairns sites I have observed. There may be a true TDMA implementation of P25 but there is very little info out there about it I have googled up.

If I wrong then please let me know where to do more reading.

Another 25 Sites recently added to the ACMA Database (not counting the above mentioned Jimboomba Site).

My BCD436 is showing alternately DAT and LNK I think, it alternates very quickly.

My old 396 used to annunciate ENC on encrypted transmissions.

Does the BCD436 not annunciate ENC, or have I got something set up wrongly?

And can someone explain the reason for simulcast to me please.

Thanks, Grant.

there is very little voice traffic on the network at the moment, i have only seen the techs talking and trials in the city. if you have it programmed as a P25 Trunking System and not conventional you should be fine

Your not expecting to hear actual voice on the GWN are you? As there are currently no other P25 II users in SEQ and as far as I am aware none will be appearing anytime soon, I think you may have brought yourself an expensive paper weight

Ok - that accounts for why it looks like a 9to5 network with not a lot of activity after hours from the monitoring I have access to in the cbd. Most after hours activity looks to be techs from the talk groups I can see

literally that, the coverage for the convention centre is so isolated to the site that you receive it at then you pass Glenelg Street and you cant receive it

nothing like an in building setup could be nothing more than leaky coax and dummy load to something this flash
http://www.rfiwireless.com.au/in-buildi ... BF2afmSxB0

Odd are the table waiters will be using gwn for comms back to the kitchen.........

same theory in use through all tunnels although I believe legacy tunnel is using a leaky coax setup through the tunnel for two way comms, suspect other are using the same.

In building I'd suggest. With the other sites at 111 George St and Dornoch Tce West End providing overall coverage for the whole area

Will this network extend to the Darling Downs?
