The F-111s aren't doing any more displays, so there may not be a need for frequencies.

So that would mean that the FA-18 doesn't do fly by's. It would be a pity that they scrap the fly buys altogether. I'm not even sure if the FA18's can do the dump & burn.

The F1-11's are now technically retired I believe. That's What they said at the Amberley Air Show, that it was the last time that would be flying. I did expect that the FA-18's would take over those Public appearances

Any aircraft can do a fly by, but it is not very impressive in the dark, the main attraction was the 'dump and burn'.

No, they can't. Technically, even the F-111s can't do a 'dump and burn'.
Apparently, once when an F-111 was dumping fuel, it somehow got ignited, someone saw the effect, and the rest is history. Normally when fuel is dumped, it just dissipates in the air.

Yeah, it was actually discovered by accident. A pilot had to dump fuel and left the after burner on. This ignited the fuel.

F-111 isnt retired yet, will be doing its last riverfire this year. FA/18F Super Hornet will be doing river fire as for 2010. As Comint said the super hornet cannot to a "dump and burn". Therefore it wont be as spectacular, instead I believe it will be doing a dirty pass which is a noise up position.

Good to hear, It makes an awesome sight over the river. I did see on the news a F-111 getting loaded onto a truck for a museum. Even the noise of a fighter jet starting riverfire would be great, It needs some thing. Just setting fire to barge load of fireworks with no climatic start would be a let down.
