Brisbane - picking up air frequencies from car

Post by tingalpa.scan »

Hi All, I'm a newbie to this hobbie and about to buy a uniden handheld scanner. I plan to use this in the car with an external antenna (multi band) attached to bonnet.
Just wondering how much signal I will get, if any, from aircraft/atc whilst driving around in the brisbane suburbs.
Any comments?

Hi,

you wil get all the aircraft that are flying around, they are above you.

depending on your location, this would have effect on what ground stations you can pick up, 5 watts vers 50 watts from the ground stations.

best bet give it a go and see what you get.

Paul.

Good choice mate, if you want to cheat programing (By not looking at the book) Press (F) funtion - and (E)x2 Enter than put a frequency in and press (E) then repeat steps until all freqs are in then press scan, give us a yell if you need more help with the 93xlt :D
