Hi Pete. Saw you found the answer in the Austech forum. Might be helpful to share it here too

When you program it with the 80ch Narrowband format it sets the narrowband modulation setting to Zero.
You have to use CS-41S ADJ Rev1.1 or later to set the MOD N Setting to 65 and the MOD Ratio to 125 as recommended by Icom, if you dont have the test equipment to set them exactly.
Do not adjust anything else or you may find your radio does not work as it should.
