In this Order and Authorization (Order), we grant the request of Space Exploration
Holdings, LLC (SpaceX)1 for authority to deploy radiofrequency beacons that would operate in very high
frequency (VHF) spectrum within the 137.00-138.00 MHz (space-to-Earth) and 148.00-150.05 MHz
(Earth-to-space) MHz bands and to operate those beacons on up to 450 of its Gen2 Starlink satellites, as
requested in the second amendment SpaceX filed to its application in December 2022 (SpaceX Gen2
Second Amendment). In doing so, we grant SpaceX’s request for waiver of the Commission’s processing
round rules.2 Grant of this portion of SpaceX’s request will serve the public interest by allowing SpaceX
to track and maintain contact with its Gen2 Starlink satellites during orbit raising and in the event of
emergencies on-orbit
