UBCD436/536 GPS

Post by kevnerd486 »

Hi All,

Anyone using a UBCD436 or 536 with a GPS and the GRN set up with location info? I had this work well with my 996 but cant seem to get it working with a 536. Every time i activate location control i get the dreaded"nothing to scan" screen and yes i have location data for the sites set.

Help!!!!!!

Ok I’ve worked it out,

Unlike the first generation gps enabled scanners (996) in the Home Patrol (HP) versions you have to put loacation date against the sites (as early versions) but also against Departments!!!

And due to the favourites structure anything under a location enabled favourite requires GPS data to be scanned.

At firsts I thought this would be problematic for the GRN but you are able to set a large
range against the departments ( I set it at 1000 miles) which means departments are always in range in NSW.

Oblivious the range set for sites is seperate and set to normal RF range, which varies depending to how fussy you want to be but an average of 25 miles works ( although I’ve tweeked that for the Sydney metro area).

I would love to know if any one else uses gps location scanning, I have used it for a long time with my 996 and glad I’ve now got it working with the current generation HP scanners.

Regards

Kev
