Radio_Australia wrote:G'day all , I have always owned a scanner from the age of 12 , starting with the old uniden 245 handheld and progressed onto many other scanners over the years , spent a few years in tassie and listened to the Tasmania police EDACS system they had for a while , now back up on the coast with a uniden 396 and an assortment of other radio gear .

Loving that the QPS still using analogue for there main Job channel after all these years ! (Not sure for how much longer)

Great forum guys ,

Yes, they will be moving to the GWN by mid 2016. This is a fully encrypted network.

Ah bugga , end of an era !

Don't know why Gold Coast would be moving within a month because of the G20 ?
I was led to believe all future functions were being held in Brisbane . With the exception of a couple of VIPs staying on the far north of the gold coast during the G20 .
