Adam , the ambos here in Vic using the digital mmr , you will need a digital radio to listen to them , there are a few country areas that still use the 413.425 chan but most now use the VHF in the country ,

That Melbourne metro scan is years out of date and useless

in the country all ambos are vhf and are on the smr trunking network. 164-167mhz and you need a computer and a scanner that can plug into a pc to be able to follow conversations

What gave you that idea? my RAV monitoring is purely analogue no SMR/trunking up this way, same with CFA & VicPol, it was exactly the same in Central Victoria last time I was down that way too (12 months)

you can program smr in as conventional however you will always hear a mixed number of convo's from ambo's ses and other smr user's you need a pc to sort out the site id's ect where i live we have 4 smr freqency's and all are mixed up with different users
