Re: new cfa portable radios
"Vital feedback from brigades resulted in excellent collaboration between brigades, the RRP team and Tait engineers. Following extensive consultation and testing, Tait is now ready to deliver an enhanced version of the TP9100 portable radio.
A range of enhancements have been made, including greater water protection, enabling the radio to be clearly heard even after being sprayed directly with water, and louder audio volume. There is now an audible cue when the radio Press to Talk button is activated, and a new, louder speaker-microphone accessory."
I heard that one of the reasons the portables needed to be 'enhanced' was they were holding water in the speaker area and needed to be periodically turned upside-down and shaken in order to get it out. There was a video demonstration and everything.
Now they have a hole for the water to drain out. Very technical.
