setting up pager for sydney

Post by Torquative »

Howdy all

so I decided to play with an old pager I got off ebay - a Commtech Mercury 8

Not bad, user programmable thru the keypad and only 10 bucks!

Problem is I have NFI what settings I need to program into it.

I understand the capcodes are for the various things I want to view, for example FCO1 FCO2 or a particular station for the RFS etc, but I have NFI what freq to use, then it has a CS number and I can choose 10K, 12.5K, 20K and 25K then a BR number (Baud Rate) of 512, 1200 and 2400. Ive read conflicting things so I dont know!

Can anyone help? I'm not really trying to pickup anything in particular so if anyone has any capcodes that would work that'd also be great. I'm in Penrith (I know that helps).

Cheers

512 is the Baud rate, no idea about that particular pager at all.

NSW RFS Pager Frequency is 148.5875 MHz.

I am assuming the CS means Channel Step, so I would choose 25K.

ah cheers guys

would anyone happen to have any useful capcodes for Penrith (or RFS in general?), or at least one or 2 that I could put in that have a high chance of receiving a page sometime in the next few days to confirm its actually working?

Cheers

Why don't you setup your computer to get the cap codes then you can sort thru the cap codes that you want ... And then share them with us all.

Tow time, you will use PDW to get the capcode. It's up to you to decide which ones are of interest to you in you particular area
