googling software for the 996T i found the id tracker site.
Is it anygood ? Do you just put in the ID you want and it does the rest ?

It covers a bunch of scanners and is free.

Depends on what you are expecting it to do. It doesn't work with MPT1327.

Define "rest".

ID Tracker III is intended to help you identify any new ID that crops up on a System, which means that initially, a fair amount of work is required, by you, to associate labels (Alpha Tags) to TGIDs. The Trunking System controllers only broadcast NUMBERS, be they SysIDs, TGIDS, RIDs, or Channel Numbers. Any Alpha Tags come from you.

im not very savvy with software things and my comp experience is very basic.

Define REST. well i was hoping i could put in the active TGIDS ONLY and it would somehow search and pickup ...

no such luck huh?
