prefixes and ids Control channels Base Freqs

Post by rredbeak »

Ok,reading through the forum i found Prefixes followed by Ids.

Now only knowing those 2 things how do i program it into Trunkview?

While im scanning without trunkview and come on a obvious trunked freq, how do i tell what is its control freq and base freq please? And will any Ids flash up on the scanner for me to note down?

Cheers Rod
I LOVE AOR scanners, but cant afford the newer ones LOL. So Uniden is it.

Define "obvious trunked freq".

If it is making the "Control Channel Noise", then it is obviously THE Control Channel Frequency.

As for determining the Base Frequency, that is explained on the TrunkView website.

All the Biscom MPT1327 UHF Sites in Queensland have the same Base Frequency.
All the Telstra Fleetcoms MPT1327 Sites in Queensland have the same Base Frequency.
All the Vertel MPT1327 Sites in Queensland have the same Base Frequency.
All the Biscom MPT1327 VHF Sites in Southern Queensland, except Mt Goonaneman, have the same Base Frequency.
Mt Goonaneman requires a Custom bandplan, which hasn't been determined yet.

And will any Ids flash up on the scanner for me to note down?
No. That would require a scanner that can decode MPT1327, and none currently exist.
