Re: how to stream?
I can write up a tutorial when I get a chance. However unless someones willing to provide you with a server to push it to, it can chew alot of usage running it from home.

Re: how to stream?
Go to www.radioreference.com and apply to broadcast a live feed. It's free, and extremely SIMPLE to set up. All you do once your account is created, is download their broadcast program (very small) and enter your username and password and it does the rest!. All you need is a scanner connected to your soundcard via a Line In cable. It literally takes 5 minutes to set up from scratch!

Re: how to stream?
If you use www.radioreference.com as a host, you only upload to their server, then everyone else connects to them, not you so it's pretty economical and you dont have heaps of people connecting direct to you and using up your bandwidth! They can cope with up to 1000 listeners on your feed at once!rochedalescan wrote:I can write up a tutorial when I get a chance. Re: how to stream?
Thank you for that Geoffro, does the user need to download anything or can you just provide an external link for WME etc ?

Re: how to stream?
I have not looked at the site and exacty what reference it is making mention to - when it says "cable" that is not talking about Ethernet cable but rather cable (US term) or adsl connection
I could not see how it could not work with a wireless internet conection but I could see how dial up could not work in streaming data
Just a thought??

Re: how to stream?
It would work, as long as its a constant connection I dont see why not.

Re: how to stream?
Rohan, did you ever end up getting a stream of region 3? Would be great to listen to Toowoomba QFRS and QAS on stream.

Re: how to stream?
Sorry didn't have the time to write the tutorial, most of the guys stream using the server at http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.ph ... d_Provider
I'm not too sure if you still use windows media encoder for that ? someone help me out.
But basically you just get a 3.5mm male to male cable http://chadt4.files.wordpress.com/2009/ ... cable1.jpg and connect it from your radio to your sound card
