5 May 2009 - $215.5M BOOST FOR EMERGENCY SERVICES TO KEEP STATE SAFE
Mr Cameron $56.2 million would be provided to the Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority (ESTA) to improve its capacity to manage calls and dispatch units with the Country Fire Authority, Ambulance Victoria and the State Emergency Service; and $57.1 million had been allocated for new radios and to provide upgrades to radio and pager network used by emergency services in the field.
This upgrade builds on the $450 million investment in communications since 2000

Let's see how they go with this one, will regional VIC get it's cfa & police VHF network upgraded? Time will tell, should be interesting to see what eventuates out of this.
