.
Someone is really confused there.

- 18 PEOPLE ON BOARD -

The PC-9 is a single engined two-seat training aircraft.

Yeh - i first read that way as well

But what i am thinking - landing on runway (tarmac) 18 - people on board 2

Should have been a comma or something in that - but after a second read - that is what i think was suppose to have been said - landing on runway 18 with 2POB

MAYBE ?

RAAF Pearce is Perths nearest Royal Australian Airforce airbase and is located about 30 km north-east of Perth. Pearce is the home of the flight training squadrin 2FTS which trains would be fighter pilots in PC-9's and BAe Hawks and also gets regular visits from RAAF C-130's. During war times Pearce also gets large cargo aircraft and also airforce aicraft from all over the world but mainly from the United States. Pearce is also very active when visiting aircraft carriers from the United States come to Perth around every few months and do training exercises at Lancelin bombing range about 220km North of Perth.Pearce has three runways 18L/36R, 18R/36L and 23/05 where the training schools perform touch and go's. The 2FTS sqaudrin also flys out to Gingin which is another airforce strip about 25km North West of Pearce

For people who dont know what Pan Pan Pan is, it is the step under mayday. Basically they're not saying that they need a full on response however fire trucks are dispatched in some cases. Dont know the exact meaning someone might know the full procedure?
