Just for everyone’s info District 14 have reverted back to Channel 61 for the time being. Apparently there have been transmission problems around the Werribee area on the RMR. Hopefully it will be fixed before too long.

Not just the Werribee area unfortunately, also there has been some issues with the new trunking Fireground channels they're meant to be using now also over in that District.

Have been receiving District 14 clear in Digital on the RMR network.
However I was wondering if there is anyway we know about cfa districts 14 fire ground channels...
There was a job tonight for a pumper to respond to a job in South Morang and the dispatcher said fireground 333
Has anyone got the freaquency a for these? Or do I just program TGID 333 to my scanner

333 will not be a t runking channel.

It is part of their older digital FG allocations they started using a few years back and is conventional.

Try 161.0375 NAC 746 for Channel 333.

District 13 dispatch 30513 also experienced issues on Monday afternoon.
Dispatcher mentioned all digital channels in District 13 were down.

Responding units couldn't get through and were coming up on 512 and 523; before being told to revert back to Dispatch 54.

Does anyone know if this also affected SES and VICPOL in the CFA D13 area, or was it possible to be a CFA network patching issue?

11 months` ago i sent my two Uniden 396XT`s to a bloke in central victoria to re -program both of them for CFA only . He stripped everything i had out of them and loaded them up with every available CFA P25 and conventional frequency available at that time. Did a ripper job. all. Now i have all the districts, all the control channels and most importantly , access to the fire ground channels. And it all works. Had to use the fire ground channel during the Haddon fires in March this year and the info i got was more accurate than any radio or news website reports.

Same here.

While the ABC reports help, they are often not up to date unless someone calls in with a report. They also have a large coverage area and programs to run, so for some they are better than nothing, but nowhere near as good as a scanner. That said, understanding the comms heard takes a somewhat trained ear, but that develops fairly quickly.

The Victorian emergency app is useful, but I've found that when a notification goes out for something local, the thing tends to give up and say "unable to load or update map" or similar. I guess everyone locally is trying to do the same thing.

The air bomber AM airband freqs. are particularly useful also.

I live in an area with dodgy mobile reception ,so internet and mobile phone access isn`t always available, but the scanner is another tool in the box for fire season.
I have trouble with the Vic emergency app notifications running my mobile phone flat with the massive amount of fires ,big and small , letting me know constantly there is a fire somewhere . This is what it is designed to do , but it never ceases to amaze me the number of fires around the Ballarat region every day. My phone stays on charge alot to combat this .
Sometimes the Vic Emergency app times out too quickly and a notification i had 10 minutes` ago is now out of date.

Not sure i have the air bomber frequencies. Do you have a link to these , please , VK3RX ? Much appreciated ,if you do. My old Air frequencies got over written.

The first two are the main ones (primary & secondary) used around Victoria, and also allocated Australia-wide. I've not heard any of the others used, and probably wouldn't be unless there were multiple fires each requiring air assets.

FIRE – CTAF 1 (AIR TO AIR) 132.550 AM
FIRE – CTAF 2 (AIR TO AIR) 135.550 AM
FIRE – CTAF 3 (AIR TO AIR) 126.350 AM
FIRE – CTAF 4 (AIR TO AIR) 128.900 AM
FIRE – CTAF 5 (AIR TO AIR) 129.950 AM
FIRE – CTAF 6 (AIR TO AIR) 130.950 AM
FIRE – CTAF 7 (AIR TO AIR) 131.200 AM
FIRE – CTAF 8 (AIR TO AIR) 131.850 AM

I heard 131.8500MHz (8) active the other day. The assets seemed to be working the Seaford fire that was going at the time.

Interesting. I'll have to make sure I'm scanning the lot.

It was the 20th December when I had activity on it, just after 1700Hrs.

I tweeted about it at the time which is the only reason why I'm certain on the date and time.

I was monitoring the Mill Park fire this evening.

When the fire first occurred they were on 131.8500, then as it progressed and more assets were assigned they were on 128.9000MHz.

At 1859Hrs I tweeted the following:
Vicradio Zone
@VicradioZone
Currently monitoring F-CTAF PRI 4 on 128.9000MHz.

CS working Mill Park fire.

Active CS heard so far are HELITACK 336, HELITACK 341, HELITACK 345, FIREBIRD 306 & FIREBIRD 300.
Try this:
https://firewebext.ffm.vic.gov.au/Burns ... ftList.htm

Freq you listed is shown in use at Pomonal Fire.

Pumper_50 that is the same site I use for the aircraft frequencies. Couldn’t check after 1800Hrs as was on the fire ground relieving our first tanker from 1030 Hrs call out. Was there until 2100 approximately when DEWLP took control of the sector we were assigned to and sent us home. Was a long day yesterday.
