SES Vic frequencies

Post by jimbojones889 »

Hi all.

Can someone please tell me or point me in the right direction of ses frequencies. I've been reading that they're on the smr network. I have a ubcd396xt. Any help programming would be great. Thanks.

VICSES dispatch channels are on the SMR Network however they still use their UHF NFM analogue network. VICSES are dispatched via the SMR but then mostly operate on their UHF channels with most comms going through their local headquarters (LHQ). I believe the LHQ may then relay messages back to ESTA via the SMR as required. The UHF channels are rather active at this time. Here is the info have go at programming your scanner yourself. If you don't have programming software I'd suggest Freescan...

Yes there are specific frequencies, around 500 VHF frequencies in 12.5KHz increments.

The SMR Network Is an MPT1327 analogue trunking system with approx 100 sites statewide. Scanners are unable to follow this system as a trunking system.

You could program in the 500 frequencies and scan them but you would not be able to follow a conversation as such. I think it would be a fair task as many govt departments use this network. The network will be shut down in due course as Govt departments move over to the RMR and MMR respectively. We will see this transition start to take place this year.
