Re: Scanning digital in vic
Thanks Phil!
Is there a database somewhere I haven't found that lists all of these?
Where would I find more info on the orion network? Because I'm assuming there's more frequencies than what mount dandenong is putting out
Also we have transdev here too, so maybe that's them, will do some more listening

The Orion network consists of sites at Mt Dandenong, 101 Collins Street Melbourne, Arthurs Seat on the Mornington peninsula and Mt Bellarine on the Bellarine peninsula. I don't think anyone in Victoria has compiled a database for public use.

Not sure if it's what you're looking for mate, but frequency wise, everything is on the ACMA database.novaboy032 wrote:Is there a database somewhere I haven't found that lists all of these?
It just needs a little bit (read; a lot) of sifting through, you'll get quicker at finding what you need in time though.

Re: Scanning digital in vic
That great. I have been involved in scanning since the mid '70's. I'm new to this DMR thing having recently purchased a TRX-1 for the DMR/NXDN capability and enjoying the challenge.... mostly....
There is also other Orion sites I forgot, that's Murradoc Hill and Dandenong.
As a matter of interest Uniden (USA) have just announced a DMR upgrade for the BCD325P2 and BCD996P2. I don't believe the upgrade is suitable for the UBCD325P2-AU. So if anyone has a BCD996P2 and some spare $'s keep a lookout for the release of the update. It will be cheaper than purchasing a Whistler TRX 1/2 or 4/536HP.

Thanks for the help x-firey
Just a heads up to anyone trying to do the uniden updates, you need a credit card registered in the US to complete it as the updates aren't available on the Australian website. Zip scanners sent me the unlock code for mine (at an inflated price)

Re: Scanning digital in vic
Also known as Qenos. Qenos in Altona looked to be using a single site Tier III DMR system at one stage. Network ID: L13 Site: 2.2 465.1500MHz carrying CC traffic.465.1500 is Kemcor Australia out of Altona
System was installed by MCS Digital: http://mcsdigital.com.au/dmr/
Radio info: http://www.hytera.com.au/navigation.htm ... =newDetail
This is part of a CSE Crosscom managed Capacity Plus system. The second frequency from memory was 463.5500 but I'll need to refer to my notes at home to confirm this is the correct second frequency.463.6500
Tgids 56, 60, 262200, 120, 105, 0
TGID 53 is a good one to listen in on. You'll soon pick up on who is using that ID.
BTW on the Crosscom Orion Network site you asked about. City Of Melbourne should be on there from memory and see FB for some further information that you asked about. Also I reckon I've heard one of the two companies servicing the Vicroads Traffic Light System use the network for dispatch of faults and such in the metro area.

Re: Scanning digital in vic
One DMR trunking system that doesnt seem to have got much attention so far is Silvercomms DMR Tier III upgrade from their existing UHF MPT1327 network (similar to what Vertel is doing in NSW on their VHF MPT1327 network). Originally 7 sites it has now been expanded to 9 sites. There should be a Tier III control channel site at each site, as well as an existing MPT1327 control channel at 7 sites. If i was in Melbourne i would be logging which frequencies are DMR and what is analog MPT1327 (obvious from the end of call tones)
