Re: Digital scanner
The CFA has gone fully digital so if you want to listen to them you will need one. If you want to pick up Melbourne police you have no hope with anything as they are encrypted.

Re: Digital scanner
District 13 is analogue still, because they are considered "Metro Area". Will a digital scanner still pick up analogue and also will it have better reception???

Re: Digital scanner
There is 2 cop channels that are clear per area
Re: Digital scanner
The CFA are not full digital yes they have digital channels and are still in the process of rolling out there digital network
Regional police will most likely be Digital and Encrypted my mid next year as ive heard of a reliable source.
if you live in the country you might as well stick with a analogue scanner until mid next year as they are a lot cheaper
if you wont to listen to metro ambos or MFB you will need a digital scanner as these services are digital but not encrypted

I found a website a while ago that shows you your closest GRN tower on a map. I want to use it again but cant find it anywhere, has anyone got any ideas?
