FRNSW PMR

Post by Luke_g »

Hi all,

Doing a road trip from Qld to Forster NSW and would like to listen to Fire and Rescue on the way down. I have both P25 and Analogue PMR channels listed for them but can anyone confirm that the north coast (tweed to Taree) is still analogue? The ACMA map search only show the Analogue frequencies. Also is Forster on PMR or GRN. Thanks in advance

Cheers,

Luke

Foster will be GRN. The system goes up as far as Taree, so Foster should be covered (at least according to the coverage maps).
I would give both P25 and analogue a try. My undestanding (happy top be corrected) was that the whole state would be P25 by now.

FRNSW use Analogue PMR to Newcastle not GRN, the only user on GRN from Buladelah to Newy is ASNSW.

NSWRFS are the only P25 Statewide, FRNSW conducted a trial in the Southern Hinterland but havent expanded beyond.

Thanks for the info guys. Would anyone know what frequencies FRNSW use in forster itself? I cant seem to find a related frequency on the surrounding sites. Thanks in advance.

FRNSW should be heard on:
417.1625 Mt Talawahl Nabiac (20km distant NW)
418.6500 Mt Ganghat (44km distant NW)

Forster is Station 295 ie Pumper 295 etc

FRNSW P25 use has definitely expanded past the Southern Highlands. The Snowy Mountains and Riverina areas are both using P25.
