hello im thinking about buying a UHF or a scanner or something that picks up police channels. i currently live in port macquarie and cost isnt a real issue. cheers

What frequencies are you wanting to listen to?
Maybe a GME UHF could be what you are looking for?

It seems that the Police in that area are in the process of migrating across to APCO P25, which is Digital, so you would need something like a Uniden UBCD396XT scanner.
