Old Police Patrol Callsigns?

Post by SteveNSWP »

Just curious if anyone can remember the old Patrol callsigns for NSWP?? For example I remember 1-9 where trucks, 10-19 where sedans, I think 25 was the patrol sgt and 20 may have been duty officer?

Cheers

Steve.

That system came in towards the end of the 1980's.
Patrol followed by number
So in my old area i grew up in ... Burwood ... The caged vans were burwood 1, burwood 2 etc
It changed to the current system about 1996. Local area command eg burwood 15, 16 for caged vehicles
I can remember the one before that ... Divisions. Burwood was 9 division

Another one I KIND OF heard, today.
"SLP" with a two digit number. I think.
Heard it on one of the weaker channels while scanning.
Wanted the location of a local vehicle to deliver a replacement wheel.
