Back Again - Need Assistance Please & TY

Post by DigiDave »

Hello there. I was unable to find a specific place to post this and given the forum looks inactive, I figured this might be a good place to get some attention.

There was a time my wife used to love listening to the scanner. We got rid of it a while back. I'm not looking to get her another one to help her fill in her spare time. We live in Harvey Bay QLD where it would appear that emergency services have not gone digital yet. Please correct me if I am wrong.

We used to own a Uniden BCT8 800 MHz Trunk Tracker III
http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/BCT8

I can only find them second hand. I would prefer to buy new and now looking at the:
UBC355XLT
https://uniden.com.au/shop/product.php?productid=16903

The latter does not seem to have trunk tracking on it as far as I can tell. However I really don't know that much about it. All I need to know ... will the UBC355XLT be as effective as the BCT8 Trank TrackerIII ?

Additionally to this query, would any one know if I could use the following:
Bluetooth 4.0 Stereo Audio Adapter Dongle
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Bluetoo ... Sw-0xYfXk3

... to output the audio from the 3.5 jack Via this Bluetooth dongle to a standard pair of Bluetooth headphones? I don't mind listening to a scanner myself ... but being able to free up movement for my wife as too reduce the constant scanner noise ... would make listening to the scanner more enjoyable all round.

All feed back welcomed.
TY.
~Dave.
