Good Evening To All

Post by STS904 »

Hi guys,

My name is Steve and I'm from the Penrith area in Sydney.

I'm only new to the scanner scene. I currently own an American model Uniden BCD996XT with the RH96 remote head

I have the NSW channels for Fire, Ambulance and SES at the moment.

I'm looking at buying the Aussie Uniden UBCD996T

I have heard the BCD996XT is top of the range but im finding it a little difficult to use.

Any help on here from anyone would be greatly appreciated

Hi Steve,

Welcome to the site!

For a new-comer to scanning getting your head around programming, trunking, offsets, tones, digital etc etc will take time to get the hang off. Once you've get the jist of it all you'll be pretty happy with your BCD996XT as it does significantly more than the old school "conventional" scanners could.

As Phantom said, there is plenty of support on here for the 996 units. If there is anything specific we can help with feel free to shoot us a private message or post up and we'll see what we can do.

Cheers

Hi and welocme to the forum.

Yes the 996 is a very complex unit, but well worth it when you do get it working :)
