mobile setup falcon

Post by oscar73 »

My relatively new install. Into the falcon wagon goes a 996t scanner and a Simoco programmed up with the 80 x UHF CB channels and a couple of company freq's. To avoid butchering the original, used a relatively cheap after market din slot where the 996t has gone into. Both units connected to rfi onglass antennas mounted on either side of the front windscreeen. Free tip - dont stick these damn things down until you check if the windscreen wipers clear it :x

Very cool set up Oscar!

Does the audio come through the car system?

I have an aftermarket DIN slot(went for the one with the USB 5v charging sockets)and it was also a light silver and not the grey silver as the dash(don't know what vehicle this silver is supposed to match up with). I went to a paint supplier and they colour matched some paint in a spray can to match the dash and also supplied a can of 50% satin flat clear. now the aftermarket unit matches the dash perfectly. also used it to cover up a few scratches on the console and cup holder lid
