Rochedalescan's Car Setup

Post by rochedalescan »

Hi all,

Thought it might be time I put up a bit of a rundown of some of the stuff I have I will start with my car for now.

Inside as you can see I have a BCT15xt and a Simoco SRM9022 (SRM9000 mounted behind dash) with Ext Speakers mounted under the dash. From the second photo you can see I have just a couple of those cheap 50$ GME antenna's (GME AE4005) Fairly simple but very effective and does exactly what I need :)

Mate I actually brought the BC346xt a few months before hand which was pretty much released at the same time as the sister for the BC15xt so programming was basically exactly the same which is really easy, I didn't bother with the PC programming but I guess it would be beneficial for trunking etc.

Function wise it's got quite alot of interesting things, really good to have the alpha tagging too I was supprised how well a small antenna like that would work for both radio's but it is actually receiving really well. Audio clarity is also really good on the BC15xt aswell. I was so impressed with this radio I had to buy another one for inside aswell. What did the GRE set you back ? I heard they weren't so great they look pretty impressive though.

That's a very neat setup Shane. Is the scanner's audio wired thru the car speaker system?

@airman I have extension speakers for both that are hidden behind the dash etc.

@BG that is a pretty good price they look like fairly expensive scanners.

@fire_rescue I have them :P but they don't fit on the GME antennas haha
