New PDW version with SSL support

Post by Discriminator »

Today I have released a beta version of PDW. Andrey Grodzovsky has taken on PDW's email function. Thanks to him, it now supports SSL as well. I have tested the new version with Gmail. Your experiences and bug reports are welcome below ;)

Issue reported on Dutch scannerforum.nl: this version gives an error message 'Not a valid Win32 application' on Windows XP. I have reproduced this error on a Windows XP Virtual Machine. Digging into this shortly.

I have uploaded a version that should be OK in Windows XP. I have tested it on a virtual XP Machine. Download link in my first message.

Hi Discriminator,

I receive a message below that tells me that I need to log in or something. I am using Gmail. I don't believe it is an error message as such, but a prompt that I cant seem to work around. Any help appreciated.

Yours sincerely

You're better off using application specific passwords: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833

Much more secure :)

It's the only change. No further features were added, nor existing features changed.

Hey Discriminator

Thanks, I have successfully used this new version with the SSL. Works great!

But i thought i'd also share this solution, just in case people were still having email troubles.

Check out this screenshot below, it's something i found "googling" around and this works fine! No SSL or Authentication needed..

I have also posted more detail on this here: http://www.aussiescanners.com.au/forum/ ... =67&t=4987

Cheers
