Vodafone Paging

Post by XPIOTOS »

As a former lurker, I'm hoping that some of you can help me out.

I need to set up a pager to use with Vodafone Messaging - just using an Apollo pager I had lying around from a past life, rather than buying a new one from Vodafone. Capcodes etc are sorted, but I just want to know if any of you experts are able to help me to work out what frequency and baud rate I need to use?

If it would help, I can PM you the organisation I work for. The content of our messages is fairly distinctive. I suspect that anybody who has a PDW setup and looks at that kind of thing might be able to help.

Cheers :-)

So I think I have worked out that Vodafone/Hutchison should be on 148.6375MHz at 1200 baud. Can anyone tell me if this seems correct? Meanwhile I'll set my pager to that and see how it goes!

It should be either 148.6375 or 148.5625, at 512 or 1200 baud.
Most 'general' traffic seems to come over 148.6375 with a mix of those two baud rates, so I think you are on the right track.
Let us know how you go!
