Hi All,
On my pager, messages are grouped into "Emergency", "Non-Emergency" and "Administration" messages.
I'm just wondering, how does the pager know which group the message belongs to?
Is this the "Mode" in PDW (i.e. POCSAG-1, POCSAG-2, POCSAG-3)??
Cheers,
Justin

Re: Checking pager message severity
All the EAS pagers start with the letters
@@ = Emergency
Hb = Non Emergency
QD = Admin
The pager looks for what two letters are at the start
of the message then puts the message in the relevant group

Hi cfa4x4,
OK great, that makes sense as the couple of admin messages I've found have the QD prefix, so I thought it must have been an error with my PDW decoding, but apparently not
Cheers,
Justin
