Kids interfering with QPS radio!!!!!!

So ive been listening to my local police a fair bit over the years (caboolture/redcliffe- 468.###).
I usually leave my scanner on so i can hear it over the top of what I'm doing. Got out of the shower and walked into my room only to hear "urgent, urgent, urgent". Naturally i sat down and turned the scanner up to listen. Moments later i heard it again, followed by another unit saying "VKR, youve got a unit calling out urgent", to which WKR replied "ive been hearing it all morning". 20 seconds later i hear, "Suck my d##k", "urgent, suck my d##k".

How the **** are kids broadcasting over police radio? I mean, i know how you could do it, but how could kids do it?

I encourage you all to tune in and have a listen!

Wonder what the next step is for qps...

These kids are prob using parents radios or some imports that are open

Tis a shame - as it ruins it all for everyone else.

I'm not surprised. When caught - hope the ACMA throw the book at them...

Yep its not hard. Just get a cheap asian radio where you can input tx freqs and away you go.

Some idiot did it on SECOMM (QAS) down here a few months ago.

Hope they get caught!!

This has been going on for about 1 and a half months now. It's mainly occurring on Caboolture channel 59. When it first started orders were that the radio operator had to go through every unit booked on the Information Management Screen for Caboolture/Redcliffe and conduct a verbal welfare check.

Most likely scenario is some dickhead has put the QPS frequency for Caboolture 59 into his CB radio with the CTCSS code as well, in turn allowing this little shit to broadcast over the channel. Radio Electronics Section have been advised of it and are attempting to block it out or some how or track the kid down-I believe they were attempting to start however as soon as they said this the kiddo stopped broadcasting on the radio channel.

Just and update three people in custody, three radios seized. They are yet to find out which person is the main offender but at least the radios have been seized.

Was only a matter of time before they got caught!!

Glad they picked them up. Hope it is a warning to the "others" considering doing it.

No not QPS issued radios. Would have to be a CB or those cheap asian imports you are talking about because there is no way three kids would be able to get their hands on three official QPS radios. Having said this though QPS does loose a lot of equipment they generally disclose this in FOI documents.
