Cavill Ave beat

Post by Grunter1 »

Hello,

Having visited the lovely Gold Coast several times (yes I'm one of THEM) I've seen the carnage down Cavill Ave late at night - almost as many cops as legless bods.

Listening to Geoffro's live feed late on a Friday or Saturday night there is virtually no radio traffic relating to this. Do the beat cops use another channel from the main GC one or just not talk much?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

Grunter1.

Not being from the area - I would think that there maybe a dedicated channel to the mall area.

I would think that since there is no much other "stuff" happening in/around the coast - that if the mall's transmissions were being broadcast over a wider network - come 2am - well - i dont think many messages would be able to be conveyed as the amount of traffic over the radio network would be insane.

There are a few people on here that are "locals" down the coast and/or know more about the QPS network on the GC.

Isn't there a dedicated channel for Cavill beat police and security staff?
Cheers

Broadbeach to Surfers Paradise (they have three repeaters linked) use 469.125 on a friday and saturday night you will get alot. In these districts the officers are also advised to use mobile phones as often as possible. From what i understand this is the way it will remain until its kicked over to digital.

Whos paying the Mobile Phone Bill - Hope QPS are providing the phones to the crews and not requesting private phones to be used on the job for work related matters
