Just a note, Channel 117 at Mt Tambo and Channel 125 off of Tweed Heads are in fact used by VKG Newcastle for the Tweed-Byron LAC and Richmond LAC.

The Shailer Park repeater actually covers Southport quite well, but so does Surfers Channel 71, so it doesn't really matter which you use.

The most annoying thing is that Channel 104 (Jupiters) has been switched to Coomera district, and so has Channel 106 at Springbrook Bilbrough, so between the Burleigh Repeater Channel 23 and the Surfers Channel 71, there are no repeaters for the VKR Main Channel in the Gold Coast District. A bit too much distance to rely on good signal...

My portable struggles to pick up any good signal when I'm in like Miami/Mermaid and even Broadbeach sometimes.

sorry i actually ment 468.7125

weird freq i know but its very clear in broadbeach/surfers area.. i think it might even be on top of Q1

I just had this problem on the weekend becasue i did a shift down the gold coast and the scanner in my work car wasn't picking up anything on 469.1000 which was previosly the channel i would listen to while working in surfers/broadbeach area so i had a search of this forum, found the above frequency and volla! crystle clear Gold Coast QPS

Hey Phil,

Channel 122 is one of PCC Brisbanes channels that is analouge. Usually these analouge channels are activated when repairs are being completed on digital channels around Brisbane. Bravo and Mike units would be Brisbane Central District and Mike-Brisbane West District, Tango 762 is Brisbane Dog Squad based at Oxley however they cover the whole of Metro North and South. Is this channel still operating or have they deavtivated it. It happens regularly with Metro North District and Pine Rivers Channels when they do repairs.

There's also another one you might be interested in from memory I think it is Channel 84 or 82 and that is also used mainly on the Northside when digital channels arent working properly.

it honestly just sounds like an enquiry channel but they are also distributing jobs for addresses around Sandgate and Clayfield

Jobs can be finalised by using the enquiries channels however only when busy so I dont know whats going on with that. Enquiries dont usually dispatch jobs. If they are dispatching jobs for Sandgate and Clayfield they should be using November callsigns e.g. N490s Sandgate or N440s Hendra but since you said there is Bravo channels and Mike on there as well its a very good chance it was the Metro North Region Enquiries Channel.

Why not just scan from 467.8375 to 469.4250 MHz in 12.5 kHz Steps.

467.8375 MHz is Channel 1
467.8500 MHz is Channel 2

the rest just follow through to:-

469.4250 MHz is Channel 128

last time I looked it up, channel 1, 467.8375 isn't licensed to any user by the ACMA so all Police radios should start at channel 2
