Joining a coastguard or vmr unit

need help or info or got a question feel free to ask and i can assist where need be

there two types of membership

Regular Membership
Adults 18+ years
Requirements:

6 to 12 months provisional membership
Completion of a Basic Seamanship Course
Commitment to undertake rostered duties which may include safety patrols, radio operations, public relations or administration
Attendance at monthly meetings
Joining fee $5 + GST (may vary slightly from State to State)
Annual fee $30 + GST (may vary slightly from State to State)

Associate Membership-FOR BOAT OWNERS
Provides members with:

A call sign
Membership card and a special decal for your vessel
Recorded details of boat/trailer/home contacts
Radio coverage from all Coast Guard radio bases around Australia
Support from rescue, training and informative Coast Guard facilities on a wide range of topics
Newsletter on Coast Guard activities (where published), safety news and other information
Opportunities to attend various educational courses
A record of your movements if you are overdue from an outing and have logged on for assistance
Special occasions for on-water social days or safety surveillance
Also available are

Associate member pennants, gift lines, t-shirts
