Listed as the turnout channel for NSWFB statewide.

They don't use voice turnout though. A fax gets sent through to the station.

Anyone know any details???

Hi stretch

Have you tuned into this channel or around it
i know there is a channel for NSWFB which you can hear NSWFB Turn out i have heard them from Helensvale with Tweed turning out to Alarms at Seagulls
I only listion to Brisbane/Logan now due to a transfer about a year ago

I was down travelling through NSW a bit and had in it the scanner. No results, maybe some stations get a voice turnout

I've been in Station 50 (Hornsby) and he was showing us and rang Firecom (whatever they call it) and asked for a test turnout. The bells went then a print out was printed with job details etc.

I'll put it in again and see what I come up with.

i beleive it is firecom newcastle i will check later as i am in nsw at the moment.

i must correct myself. the current one for mid north coast and far north coast is newcastle comms.

Most of NSWFB is on the NSW GRN.
There are a few pmr channels for areas not covered by grn.

giving you a name for station 50's comms which is Newcastle Comms from memory there are a few comm's centres

419.1000 is one of quite a few PMR channels used by NSWFB in country areas. It is used with a few different CTCSS tones to be a number of channels.

You've possibly opened a 'can of worms' with that question.

I've always known it to mean Private Mobile Radio, as in Mobile Radio for the 'Private Sector', as against use by the Government Sector. However, it is also known as Professional Mobile Radio, and only a couple of weeks ago, I heard a two-way radio industry professional refer to it as Public Mobile Radio.

Irrespective of which explanation you accept, just think of it as Conventional radio, and NOT Trunked Radio.
