Hi there, a friend gave me an old Colt 55 cb radio. I was wondering if anyone would be using the old cb in Toowoomba or surrounds and if so, I would purchase a antenna to listen on the weekends or in my spare time.
Thanks

What is "the Old CB"??
If you are referring to 27MHz, yes, there are plenty of people that still use 27MHz around the place. As for your location, you won't really know until you plug it in and get on the air

Re: Colt 55 cb radio
Why not plug in an antenna and get involved, rather than listen in?
There is no requirement to be licensed to use 27MHz CB.

If you can, just temporarily put a piece of wire in the antenna socket to listen until you get a proper antenna. It is safe as long as you DONT transmit with it.
