What Scanner to buy for home use

Post by Basada1955_ »

Looking to Purchase a scanner. The only scanning I have done is on a GME uhf. I want one that scans all frequencies and when it detects a frequency being used it shows the frequency  Is that what a scanner does.

Yes, when a scanner "scans" the frequencies, once it finds activity on it, it will stop - typically displaying the frequency it heard the activity on.

It is up to the user, to figure out who that frequency belongs to.

You need to tell us where you are, and what are you wanting to listen to….
