Yes. Some of the top scanner users in Australia, use scanners purchased direct from the US.

The only real difference is that the 800 MHz Band goes up to 869.9875 MHz in Australia, and only up to 868.9875 MHz in the US.

The attachment shows the difference between the two countries.

Thanks for all the help. Now I only need to decide between desk-top and hand-held.
