do the repeater channels work on this radio.

i have looked at the file and made a few changes but nothing i can see that would effect it drastically, for the repeater talk around the button is F2, give this a try and see how it goes

was it just the repeater channels that you changed?

i wasnt sure how to set those up properly, thanks for fixing them

it all seems to be working now, maybe I just needed to re-write the channels to the radio due to corruption or something?

so just to clarify, if i use 1-8 and 41-48 with talk around off it will try to access the repaeaters, and if I have talk around switched on it will talk just on the selected channel?

also the program says my firmware version is "TX3600P V1.12"

is this normal considering the radio is a TX3800?

and is there any benefit in updating the firmware?

sorry for all the questions

Same software for both radios. Generally, only update firmware if you have an existing problem. If all is working, leave it alone.

Good Morning Steele. I am not being smart but a common thread running through most of the GME programming discussions do not mention the LS-1a or LS-1-USB. I take it you are using this. I have come across a few do it your self ers that made the adaptor lead but did not have the LS-1 lead. Second issue is the firmware in the radio and the software version. The old firmware with the new software will start to read and error about a quarter of the way in. The other issue with this combination is when editing the channels the 80 channels are shown in the edit mode but the old firmware only has the 40 assigned so you need to upgrade the firmware or manually program the 80 channels into the commercial zone. Lots of tricks with programming radios. Regards Yipyip

Is updating the 3800 firmware easy to do on my own? I have searched and some say its a different cable?

Thanks
