Icom Ic 450 displays unlocked when you go outside of the 450mhz to 520mhz recieve range. You will not be Able to recieve any frequency out side of this range. For eg 418.400mhz will display unlocked and will not recieve

Thankyou for this discovery, it seems a bit sad as most Icoms I have played around with will happily stretch their legs a fair way when it comes to RX.

My experience with the 400 pro's and 221's is they will go about 15 mhz outside of their published frequencies. ie the 400 pro rated 450-500 will recieve from 435-515 mhz.
