ICOM IC41W Scanning Non Tagged Channels

Hi,

Anyone have experience with a ICOM IC 41W ??

I have had one for a couple of years simply using it on one channel, and its been fine.

I am going on a trip and thought i would set up the scanning for channels 40, 20 and 18.

So i selected Group Scan, selected those channels and Tagged them, then pressed scan.

The Radio scans all the channels 1 -40 , whether i have the scan set as Group or Priority, and scans channels 1 - 80 if i have the scan set as open... The "S" indicator flashes on and Off as it scans the channels (Showing S for a tagged Channel).

I am doing anything obviously wrong? I thought it should just scan the Tagged Channels and skip the un-tagged ones?

G'day mate,

Unfortunately I don't have much experience with the 41S/W,

I suspect it may have something to do with the PC programming perhaps...
Have you had it hooked up with the software on a computer?

Hi All,

I took the radio back to the dealer, and they gave it a software upgrade to correct the issue.

First one they had seen like that.
