Hi
Im looking at upgrading from my mobile 1 scatx antenna
What are some decent antennas for scanning a wide range of freqs, also it will be mounted 2m higher then the roof level which is aroung 4m

If you are receiving anything above 30Mhz I would reccomend RG213

Whats the difference between rg58 and rg213

Rg58 has much less sheilding than RG213, and as such it has much higher loss at higher frequencies. Some jaycar stores have it, but not all.

Ended up buyin the diamond-d-130j antenna, Can't wait untill it arrives :)

One of the best on the market. Stainless steel Japanese manufacture. Setting it up is easy and you should get a good signal with RG213.

Tip:
Don't forget to test your connections before you climb up on the roof! This can be done with a multimeter.

Hopefully It should out perform the scanntenna by a mile, yes I will be definatly checking the connections

what type of scanner are you putting at the end pf that coax?
