QFRS brisbane firecom offline

Post by Belladoon »

Hi I have recently started listening online to the scanners and love it ! The firecom brisbane feed has been down for a while.. I would love to know if anyone is planning to restart this feed as I have friends who work the area in QFRS. I don't have a scanner of my own, its easier listening online. I use the broadcastify.com page for the feeds.

Thank you

G'day

Why not send the feed owner an email and ask them?
Should be a link on the broadcastify page from memory

I will be adding Firecom Brisbane to my set of feeds. It should show up shortly. 466.850 at Mount Cotton. This feed will be expanded to include any rural fire service and related channels that can be received on that antenna.

I currently have a Gold Coast VKR North and South feed
and a Brisbane Harbour, VMR and Coast Guard feed.

Enjoy

Cool. Sorry about the fiddling around with it all day. I was trying to fix a problem. I will leave them alone now :)

You are welcome. I struggled a bit with the feeds today, had to give up on one of them. The computer running them has a god sound card which provides the VKR feed. I added a USB sound card for the QFRS feed, but when I added a second USB sound card I got a loud hum in the signal which clearly was not good. So I moved the QFRS feed to an external antenna and I will be removing the Brisbane Waters feed. It wasn't very popular anyway and being VHF the reception was awful. I was thinking about adding a feed for the Gold Coast Trains, but as nobody else in Aus has added trains I wondered if this would be wise.
Happy scanning

Firecom Brisbane Feed

Post by alphanull25 »

Hi scanning fans. I have added 461.9688 at Mount Cotton to the Firecom BNE feed. This is the callout channeI. I also connected the scanner to the external antenna to improve reception. I will be adding other relevant channels to this feed if I can receive them.

I have a bizarre problem with the audio in this feed. It's fine when the channels are active, bit there is a noise in the background during scanning. This is not coming from the scanner. I believe my problem is the cheap USB sound card I am running it through. The noise sounds like interference from the other scanner processing the VKR feed. However, disabling this scanner did not appear to make much difference. I am thinking I will have to get a real sound card. I assume I can have two. The noise is only bad if you turn your volume up really loud. You probably would not do that anyway :D

Enjoy
