Gold Coast - online scanner feed
Just letting everyone know I've finally migrated my feed over to Shoutcast which allows up to 20 listeners at any one time at 24kps without and packet loss.
I also stream it via Proscan (http://www.proscan.org) at the same time and allow up to 4 direct connections where users can view the scanner display along with the live audio.
I've finally got around to erecting a UHF Yagi for my scanner feed here at Tweed Heads and can now pick up Firecom Brisbane along with local Gold Coast and Tweed Coast stations. Being an ex-QFRS firie from Caboolture I like to keep track of my mates so I hope I havent doubled up with a FCBRIS feed here.

Re: Gold Coast - online scanner feed
Hey,
Been listening to what I assume is your stream.
Ocasionally the scanner will get stuck on a particular freq but still say its scanning. No audio either when it gets stuck.
Also, picking up the channels 1/5 maybe 2/5 but when I play them back its 5/5
Is that problem with my internet???

Re: Gold Coast - online scanner feed
Hi Geoff,
I am having the same problem, it will just freeze on a freq, I just restart proscan again and it goes for a while.
Thought it was perhaps proscan with the problem, but have been listing to Scan Aust on prosan and it works for ever.
Something not good at your end.
Paul.

Hi Geoff,
Had a deeper look and I find I was running version 18.4 downloaded version 2.0 from Proscan and it has not frozen at all. So it looks like it is fixed.
Cheers

Yeh. I've noticed some clients get disconnected for some reason. I was talking with the software developer and he thinks it's because some clients are using older versions. I'm keeping and eye on it so we'll see how it goes. Proscan is excellent. You hit the record button then walk away for the day and come back and listen to the recordings by frequency. Cost me $50US for the Server but it was worth it.
Cheers

A$70 under current exchange rates. Will get procan as soon as my 785D turns up ARC780 will only run the 780XLT.
Got to fork out more money for a different scanner to run under the program. So it looks like Proscan will win, one fee and multi scanners that run under it.

Re: Gold Coast - online scanner feed
Do you have to buy Proscan to be able to save the recorded audio?

Re: Gold Coast - online scanner feed
no you can download the version that will allow you to allow you to listen to the streaming on line scanners.
This is the only recording allowed from those scanners.
The full version will allow you to record your scanner.
Give Proscan ago you can download the full version and it will only work for 30 days after that you need to pay.

Ok, I just got Server version 2.0.1 emailed to me. So far so good! No "aborted" connections! Paul can you connect at some stage and see if it still freezes?

Re: Gold Coast - online scanner feed
this is the email I sent to Bob regarding the T8 & proscan back on the 10th March
Hi Bob,
Just curious if the proscan software can (with a bit of playing around) control the BC-T8 ?
I guess with the exception of the DMA types (396 / 996), the instruction set is basically the same for all the Uniden scanners.
Hence the question
his reply was
I don't know if it will or will not. If you have one then try it.
give it a try I guess
