I guess you have tried Uniden spare parts?
The same battery cover would also apply to the 73-93xlt as well. I only mention that as the staff at Uniden aren't known for helpfulness or mental initiative. If their computer says the part is NLA for the 72-92xlt, then that's as far as their searching goes.
I've been through this scenario several times with Uniden in Sydney, and I usually get what I was looking for.

Finally got through to uniden spare parts today , also got a spare 396 cover as well . Total cost was $15 .
