Computer Trunking

Post by rothackerben8 »

Does anyone know how to see what a control frequency is transmitting with a computer?. I have tried it with trunk view and SDR# but is only picking up a heap of random information. Thanks
APX2500, XTL5000, XTS2500 UBCD436PT, UBC73XLT, SRM9000 (9022) +DMAP, Codan 9323 + 9350, Motorola MCS2000 UHF+VHF, TP9100, TM9100, TM8200, DM3400, IC-718, FT 70-D

Depends on what Protocol you are trying to decode.

Trunking Protocols:
Original APCO P25 (now referred to as P25 Phase I) - uses FDMA
APCO P25 Phase II - uses TDMA
DMR (Digital Mobile Radio)
EDACS (Enhanced Digital Access Communications System)
LTR (Logic Trunked Radio)
Motorola Smartnet
MotoTRBO (a DMR derivative)
MPT1327
NXDN (Icom calls their version iDAS, and Kenwood calls their version NEXEDGE)
SmartTrunkII
TETRA (TErrestrial Trunked RAdio)
TetraPol
and possibly a few others.

TrunkView is only for the MPT1327 protocol.

UniTrunker will also decode MPT1327, as well as LTR, EDACS and Motorola Smartnet, but there isn't much of the latter two, anymore.

And, as far as I know, SDR# by itself will NOT decode any Trunked Radio protocol.
